A leading provider for online backup solutions,  released the results of a survey of over 125 small businesses that employ between 2 and 25 people to learn about their disaster recovery and backup methods.

Here is what they found:

48 percent of small businesses lost data. The top reasons for data loss included hardware/software failure (54 percent), accidental deletion (54 percent), computer viruses (33 percent) and theft (10 percent).

31 percent of small businesses surveyed agreed that backing up their computers takes away time from running their business. One of the most popular ways to backup data  were USB FLASH DRIVE(36 percent).

Small businesses recognized that there are many advantages to online backup solutions. Those who do not back up to a cloud said the major factor in their decision was cost.
